Below (on the top of a Swarovski Crystal cylindrical box)
is the very well known Swarovski Silver Crystal "BLOCK"
logo that was used up to Jan 1989.
If you look carefully you will see a smaller (squarish) "S" overlayed
on the larger background (squarish) "C".
This is the logo that is etched into the Swarovski Crystal products pre-1989.
This is considered Swarovski's symbol of Authenticity, which is why these
items did not come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Below is the current "SWAN" logo that was introduced in January 1989, and has been used on Swarovski Crystal since. It does not have a border.
As times have changed, Swarovski Crystal that is etched with this logo is, in fact, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

For those truly genuine collectors, if you come across the
Swan figurine that's an inch long and
etched with the SWAN logo it is the rarest of all Swan figurines.
The figurine was retired in 1988 and was used as a Gala Dinner gift
when Swarovski introduced their new SWAN logo.
